Step into your power,
it’s waiting for you

We all have moments when we feel overwhelmed by life’s demands:

“I can’t go to the gym today; I have no time.”
“Ugh, I’m running late because there was traffic.”
“I can’t make it tonight; I don’t have anyone to watch the kids.”
“Work has been so hectic, and I’m too tired tonight.”

These excuses can leave us feeling drained and stuck. But what if there’s another way? What if you realized that you possess incredible power and can go beyond these limitations?

This blog, But First, Me, is dedicated to you. I write to inspire you to trust, love, and persevere. By prioritizing self-care, you can give back to yourself first, enabling you to show up as your best self for others. Together, let’s explore how to reclaim your energy and step into the strength that’s already within you.

Too often, we seek external validation to find happiness, constantly chasing future goals or dwelling on the past. We tell ourselves, “If I can just have this, I’ll be happy”, “If I make this amount, I’ll feel better” or ” If this didn’t happen, I would be happy by now.” But what if happiness is right here, right now?

As you read this, you have the power to cultivate that feeling of happiness. We often get caught up in thoughts about everything else, neglecting to truly appreciate the here and now. It’s already within you. So how do we unlock true happiness? By embracing gratitude in the present moment.By shifting our focus to gratitude for what we have in this moment, we can invite joy into our lives.

So, how do we begin to find happiness in the present moment? I always say, “Start simple and keep it simple.”

Each morning, before reaching for your phone or letting your thoughts take over, take a moment to breathe, bringing yourself into awareness. Inhale deeply and focus on your breath. Try taking three full breaths, really concentrating on the sound and sensation. Afterward, think of something you’re grateful for—either silently or out loud.

Again, keep it simple. It could be as basic as, “I am grateful for my heart beating for me,” or “I am grateful for the air I breathe each day.” This practice can ground you and set a positive tone for the day ahead, helping you embrace the present moment with awareness.

When you approach the day with this mindfulness and awareness you step into your power. You begin to build new thought patterns that foster healing and enhance your mind, body, and spirit.

Affirmation: “I embrace my strength and potential. I am worthy of love, success, and happiness. Each day, I step into my power with confidence and grace, knowing that I am capable of creating the life I desire.”
